Mysteries at Althorp's Roman Villa
As the exploration of the Roman Villa at Althorp continues, the archaeologists are learning more about those who once lived there.
The Roman artefacts that Adey has discovered; the underfloor heating that Dr. Siân Thomas has identified; the chunks of imported wine vessels that Dr Cat Jarman has catalogued - all are important clues as to how the Romans lived at Althorp, more than 1,600 years ago.
Meanwhile, Charles makes a discovery that helps Professor Mark Horton to understand why so much of this once massive villa is missing.

Princess Diana buried in the center of lake that tell us another story just simple is that inside of church is the royal blood line and out side (center of the lake totally out ) for not royal blood.. and she wasn't from Royal blood line. it's a matter of rich and poor 💔

Sir John Spencer and wife Isabel Graunt were a pair of my great grandparents . One of their grandchildren left for the United States and that's where I came from . My mother was a brilliant red headed Spencer and her grandpa was William Richard Spencer . They lived in Missouri and Oklahoma . Me , my mother and daughter are all O neg blood type .

Sir John built "Athrop around 1509", in the same year that Henry the VIII was crowned. Founder was favored by the King and most political. Did those that farmed Pre-"Alrhorp" 1509 have a structure on the property? (Considering the adding of wings and finances improve). Hard to believe there was "nothing on the land", since those in Brington were successful farmers and Henry the VII did not seem it fit to disrupt farming there. Then there was King's Henry VIII's venture for a successor. The conflict with Rome, the establishment of the Anglican Church, busy times. Seems some the farmers, of the town, fell "out of favor". Some stayed others went to the "Americas" or elsewhere. For the farmer's families that stayed they worked in Althorp and in town. Of course the women were pretty and things happen under the color of authority. No surprise considering the mindset of "Droit du seigneur[" and other leisure at the "help" expense. Though this was of YHVH, "scatter through every ethnos," to the point that "all is forgiven" and "all things working for good." Doesn't excuse those perpretators and I hope they made their peace. "St Mary's" because the crown was Catholic at the time. The biggest blessing when I saw Althorp was the knowing it was not "our cup of tea". It is a "full time job" to maintain and keep afloat. Why did the "founder" want you to host as a condition? Because he understood the important of "Public Relations" through the centuries. Princess Diane was definitely the perfect PR woman. Sorry to hear about your edu time. I too had something similiar, for 10yrs. My biggest help was the King's B*ble, imagine that. Plus I was blessed with a lovely mature wife. I appreciate your going public and sharing the story, ppl can relate to it, since we all have our struggles. I too enjoy History. Be blessed and thank you.

Hello to the Spencer Family I subscribed to this channel I only heard about it yesterday and I love seeing Althorp Estate which was also Diana's home and heritage. I will never see Althorp in person I live in Australia but I just love the opportunities we have now to travel via UA-cam. I can see a lot of Diana in her grandmother Cynthia. I think you are doing a fabulous task Charles with your genuine appreciation of your inheritance of Althorp, and in maintaining the ancestral home. I love your storytelling. It is really lovely being able to see Diana's family today. Thankyou for sharing this amazing history. I love Britain. And I love all their history and beautiful homes on some magnificent estates. My sincere thankyou 💝
